We were commissioned by Carbon Accountancy to create a new website that would be informative and approachable.
The homepage banner cycles through key messages, set in strong, consistent typography.
While the website's colour scheme is white, orange and light grey, the background of dark grey with thin white lines provides both a visual reference to the previous Carbon website and continuity with graphic used on their business stationery.
This retains some established brand equity without the site design itself being constrained by such elements.
The Services index page — fully updatable by the client using Make, our own content management system.
A crucial role of the site was to foster a more approchable environment than the previous site. We wanted to make those characteristics implicit by designing pages which, while comprehensive, were helpful, informative and clear.
This is particularly evident on the service pages. Each starts with a brief explanation, followed by the main content, an 'in brief' column highighting key points and related services.
The About page uses large statements and normal body text to quickly and easily get accross key messages in a unique, interesting layout.
Case studies are simple, clear and believable, providing 'background', 'objective' and 'outcome' for several previous clients.
Contact page featuring enquiry form, contact details and integrated Google map of the Carbon office.
Already optimised for search (like all our sites), we also undertook an SEO campaign for Carbon Accountancy.
We achieved a #1 ranking on Google for the search term accountant EC1 and have now pushed them onto the first page for the more competitive term, london accountant, significantly increasing the number of targeted visitors to the website.
